SPRING BLACK!
Spring has arrived! And for us Boutique lovers that means we are pulling out the crop tops, reaching for the open-toed wedges and making sure we are ready to fit in those ripped denim capris – but wait ladies – there’s one other item (several of them in fact) that I’m reaching for and its on the 50% off rack at the Boutique at Savas Studios.
What am I grabbing for? : An adorable black mini-sheer back dress, a high-waisted, deep V-neck elegant dress and the “I can not live without it” black romper all from MOTEL ROCKS. And yes, you heard me right I said they were all BLACK.
I know what you are thinking: “Black in the springtime?” Yes, absolutely! Black is slimming, its chic and the color goes with practically everything. So, here it is, my advice to you on how to successfully wear SPRING BLACK!
As you can see from my day of shopping, I chose to wear the elegant, deep V-neck MOTEL ROCKS dress with a bright pair of kelly green shoes. Adding bold, bright and noticeable accessories will bring your basic black to a Spring Black. And don’t be afraid to add as many bold, bright and noticeable colors as you can. This is a chance to mix and match and play with color relationships! The bright pink earrings I picked out compliment my kelly green shoes like watermelon on Memorial Day. Feel like wearing purple shoes? Or maybe yellow ones? Don’t worry those earrings are also available in an electric blue and yellow at the Boutique. For my wrists? The wooden orange bracelet comes in a variety of colors as well; wooden accessories as well as chunky accessories add a nice “resort feel” to Spring Black.
Can’t take your eyes off the shear back black dress from MOTEL? Me either, its certainly sexy and lucky for us hippy chic ladies we can now wear this dress on a spring day. Pair it with a pair of light-color flat boots and some feather earrings from the Boutique and you can flower child your day away in the park. Don’t consider yourself hippy chic? Wear your favorite peep-toes, throw your hair-up and grab a pair of those bright floral studs or those rock-star lighting bolts and head out on the town!
Picking up the black romper? Or how about that black pencil skirt? Be sure to add some polka dots or stripes, either as a headband or your shirt. Eyeing up those black lace shorts? Pair it with this yellow and black blouse, the soft gauzy fabric is light and the shirt flows beautifully in the spring air.
