This is Belén!
Current BU journalism student and musician/model/photographer on the side, Belén will soon be contributing to our blog! She’ll be writing about everything from current fashion trends (and how to put them together with our pieces), to Boston happenings, and even interviews with the coolest locals, including some of Savas Studios’ very own designers and artists, so definitely check back in the next few weeks for new content!
Originally from Argentina, Belén grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she took piano lessons and played basketball. Five years ago she moved to Boston to study journalism at Boston University—and fell in love—with the Charles. And the North End. And Berry Line…among other things (below freezing temperatures excluded). Her family has since moved to Gainesville, FL, a place she doesn’t visit very often, although she misses them very much. She has two younger brothers, one who studies at Wakeforest U and another who still lives at home (no he’s not 25, he’s 12).
Belén’s hobbies include taking long walks, digital photography, and going to a “fancy” bar to drink red wine with her friends. At one point she took two years off from BU to work on a music project in a studio in Cambridge, which she finished and then shelved so she could get her college degree, although part of her doesn’t believe you necessarily need one. Right now she still plays piano and sings when she has free time, but her focus is on journalism. She’ll be graduating in May of this year and plans to take all of her writing and all of her art with her and somehow combine them into anyone’s dream freelance job. Seriously, though.
And now that we’re being serious, Belén has previously written for: The Daily Free Press, BU’s student paper, and the school blog, as well as a BU magazine called The Buzz. Last semester she opinionated about politics for ChooseYourStance.org while also interning at a local spanish newspaper, El Planeta. Now she’ll be part of Team Savas, modeling and writing for Savas Studios. Stay tuned for the latest on fashion, music, and art!
